4 Bedroom House with Private Garden and Parking

A comfortable, cosy house, well connected to the city centre by bus. Positive: This was a comfortable, warm, cosy house which suited us (4 adults and 3 grandchildren) very much. Although it is out of the town centre, there was a very good bus service which took us right into town, and there are shops nearby. There were a few niggles (e.g. inoperable bedroom door handle) but the agents responded rapidly and I suspect issues had built up because other hirers had not bothered to feed back. None of the 'niggles' were show stoppers. Negative: I was a bit surprised to receive an unexpected message asking for a deposit for key release so close to our arrival at the accommodation (our having left home a few days previously.) It was only by chance that I saw the messages. I've no objection to a deposit, but a more explicit warning at the time of booking (e.g. you will need to pay a deposit - look out for the message) would have avoided a last minute panic.

Fair Positive: The location Negative: Overall, our stay was pleasant, but there are a couple of areas that could be improved. The lawn was mowed in the backyard on the first day of our stay and in the front yard on the second day. The noise was quite disruptive, and I believe this type of maintenance should be completed before guests arrive whenever possible. Another important issue was the lack of air conditioning. Even installing a simple wall-mounted fan in each room would make a big difference to guests' comfort and would be an inexpensive improvement. Addressing these issues would significantly enhance the overall guest experience.
